Cheapest possible equip

Just out of curiosity, would it be possible to create a decent looking pano with this?

The short answer is no!

It could be use to create a panorama but not with Panoweaver and the quality will be poor when completed anyway.

You would be better served looking for a secondhand Nikon Coolpix and matching Nikon fisheye.

That lens looks similar to the inferior lens I purchased, I replaced it with an FC-E9 - There is really unbelieviable difference between this your looking at and a real lens. I have a trip planned this weekend, Ill post some pics from my new lens for you to see soon,

I'm pretty sure straw_dog has moved onto a DSLR and Sigma 8mm but I will be interested I seeing your result Ron.

Yes, sorry I should have updated this topic. We're using the DSLR and Sigma 8mm now.
