Cross Post - World Wide Panorama Event

Ok we have less than 30 days to go for the WWP Showing 18 -22 Sept 2004.

I would recommend:

Selecting your favorite bridge and photo angle.

If you have not already done so: please visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/wwp/  You may have to: 1st get a Yahoo username and password and 2nd join the yahoo group list.

When joining the group list (forum type), you will get an autoresponder email asking for information about your camera and stitching software.  Send that in and you will get an email reply welcoming you to the group list.  This GROUP has restricted membership.  When you do this you will be able to interact with some other 100 world wide panorama  photographers who take full frame and full circle fisheye images.  This is a distinct advantage as the knowledge gained can be collectively used in the Panoweaver forum.

When you visit this site you will see all types of images from cylinder to full sphere type work.  The photography work found here

http://geoimages.berkeley.edu/wwp604/wwp.html   is equal to the technical experience I have found here in the Easypano Panoweaver forum.

Once you have registered in the WWP group, you will find more about your panorama entry criteria.  Essentially it amounts to a QTVR file. My last one was about 300 x 500 pixels and 350kb for the small entry.  The optional full screen entry I think is limited to 3mb .  Specific instructions are found in the link http://geoimages.berkeley.edu/wwp604/Sizes.html

ALL the imaging work can be created/ converted using Easypano Panoweaver. (I think)

They ask for certain information.  Here is what I used last time:

Dave,

This forum should only be for Panorama Examples.

As there is no example I don't see the point of the cross post or for it to be in this forum myself.

How about others?

I say leave this forum for examples only.

Regards, Smooth

Essentially you probably will host your own panorama on your own site.  I did this as a 'project' work in progress on my site:

http://360texas.com/virtualtour/texas/wwp/index.htm

It is also being shown along side 100 other photographers on the WWP site here:

http://geoimages.berkeley.edu/wwp604/html/DaveAlbright.html

Here is the Participant Index listing for all photographers

http://geoimages.berkeley.edu/wwp604/NameIndex.html

Here is a Regional listing:  Please note that there were 3 from Australia and New Zealand in the last event:

Andrew Nemeth, NSW

Tobias Port, Perth

and is this You (of course) James (Smooth) Smoother, NSW

Notice our (like yours) panorama was hosted by University of California at Berkeley server (not yahoo site)

But then you already knew this.

The University of California at Berkeley server will not be open to up load submissions until 22 Sept 2004.  Until then you may preview our Bridge at this URL.

Today is 7 October and there are over 180 photographers in this event.  Some even used Panoweaver.

Its getting close enough to the public launch date 10 Oct.. here is the Preview page:

http://geoimages.berkeley.edu/wwp904/NameIndex.html

Also you can click on the "Thumbnail index" and "Regional index" for different sort listings.

Today 1 October there about 96 photographers entered their work.  Ours of course is there too.  It was stitched with Panoweaver.
