Dear Smooth,

Thank you for the valuable information.

Can you recommend a website that features a tutorial on getting the correct nodal point for D70+ 10.5 setup.

Also, what do you think of REALVIZ Stitcher?

Thank you once again.

kazesoze.

Kazesoze,

You are most welcome.

I do not know of a tutorial for this lens but I believe I have read that the nodal point is around 72mm ahead of the tripod screw point on the Nikon D70 fitted with the 10.5mm fisheye.

Realviz stitcher is a great program, but better suited to printable mosaics not full 360 x 180 spherical images. (Not because it can't do it) but because you must take so many photo's and this is only good if things in the image area don't move. Not ideal for the 10.5mm Fisheye and virtual tours.

Panoweaver 4.0 is definitely the way to go.

Regards, Smooth

That is an interesting location.  it appears that is where the incoming light is inverted at the principle point in the lens groupings. See the "A" dimension 24.71 millimeters from top of glass.

See diagram below:

Just to be clear, you can either go with the Nikon Coolpix if you want to make panos quickly (3 shots)..

vs..

DSLR for higher quality but many more shots (6+2) ??
