OH.. sorry.  On the top of our Nikon990's the on/off rotator button has written on it   OFF | A rec M | play.  So we just call it  Rec-A  for automatic or Rec-M for manual.

Hope that helps

If I could bother you guys again ...

I'm having a problem with windows. Light streams in, making it seem like one big white blob. I've seen other panos where you can see tress and grass outside with no prblem. Am I doing something wrong?

No bother brother... that's what this is for...
Funny thing is that BixVid has posted a great idea to solve this very problem. Have a look at his thread "a little attention to detail" and u'll find the answer to ur problem.
If I only had an hour to chop down a tree... I'd spend 45 mins sharpening the axe.

4500 or not 4500 that is the question.

I'm considering upgrading my 990 to the 4500 amongst other things in the hope that the additional pixels my improve image capture over my 990 (with which I'm quite happy)
I'd like to get a digital SLR in the future and am just wondering if it's worth getting the 4500 as well. Ho humm... so are the extra pixels worth it? Is the image capture better???

Hey Phoenix,

I was checking out the Nikon D100 the other day. Really like the ergonomics and the old SLR feel. Most of the adjustments are not menu driven you can actually turn a knob for a change. I think it was 6.5 megapixel shoots in an uncompressed 30meg proprietary Nikon format that with their software you convert to import to Photoshop. $1999.00 US without lens. Uses Nikor Ae series lenses only. I will have to sell just a few more panos to afford this one! Besides that whats the bad news? Widest angle lens is a 16mm lens fisheye and it doesn't have a wide enough field of view to do the pano work. Nice camera for the price though!

I went from a 995 to a 4500 -- Not much difference if you ask me. The 995 had a better interface as well. Easier to use.
