I try to set everything to auto in manual mode then you have to adjust exp settings based on lighting conditions.  The most common problem is when you try to take pics inside of a room with bright windows.  When you set the exp so that the room is lit properly your windows are blown out white with no detail.  Is this your problem?  If so I can add some tips on how to correct this.

You need to be in Manual Record mode then use the exposure lock feature and both images will have the same exp and the seam should blend well.  If you are in Auto Record mode, exposure lock is not available.

Remember that when you move to a different room, you also need to reset the exp lock, you will see there is an off, on, and reset choice on the menu.

Also when you take the first pic, try to point at a dark area or inbetween the darkest and lightest areas of the room.  Do not point at the brightest area for the first pic.  If you have to do post processing to the image in photoshop, it is easier to correct the blown out window areas if they are underexposed as opposed to overexposed.
