timer for Nikon Coolpix??

I'd like to do some time lapse photography and would like to know if anyone has seen or heard of a timer that (probably) plugs into the USB port and you can set it for 5, 10, or 30 seconds.

I'd like to set it up at a traffic intersection or a mall and have it do motion that looks sped-up.  Take the individual frames and put them into a Flash movie...  It would look cool to show how much traffic a place of business has for a real estate virtual tour!

Any ideas, please post.

Thanks!

Yes, this seems to be an effective method for making sure that the image is taken clearly.

However, You can also turn on the the Nikon camera feature called BBS or Best Shot where the camera will average 5 images and select the clearest one and save that one to the CF.

Just a thought on the matter... that seems to work for us.

Just buy the remote control mc-eu1. This enables the Nikon coolpix to make time laps images

The MC-EU1 allows you to take bulb exposures, and to use it as a remote shutter release, but it doesn't actually do time lapse photography.

www.Harbortronics.com/digimain.htm has what I was looking for - the DigiSnap 2000, and it's only $125!  I bought the serial/usb cable as well for $25, and they should be here in about a week (I'm in Australia).

I'll post a link to some time lapse photography movies when I get it going.

Thanks!

Hi All!!

I got the Digisnap 2000 less than a week after it was shipped!  Not bad for sending it to Australia.

I've made some movies of the sunrise from my lounge window, but nothing else yet.  I'm planning on taking some downtown...
