HD Pano's and Photo'sLately I have been hearing a buzz regarding HD Tours, Pano's and/or Photos anyone currently doing these, creating or hosting HD tours/panos, photos, ect...that could give some insight on this...?
Maybe you are referring to what everyone is incorrectly calling HDR (High Dynamic Range)? These are really fused bracketed images that (Increase the Dynamic Range) IDR.
Here is a sample
It was made from 7 images with 9 brackets of each image + a hand held Nadir shot making a total of 64 images to make the IDR panorama. It was shot with a Nikon D300 and Nikkor 10.5mm Fisheye.
Here is another sample
It was made from 3 RAW images only and then from the RAW image each was processed to create 7 different exposures make a total of 21 images in total from the original 3 shots to create the final panorama. It was shot with a Canon 5D and Sigma 8mm Fisheye.
OK, Gigapixel display is a whole other thing.
These are shot with zoom lenses and involve many hundreds for shots so you can zoom in on great detail. Not sure why anyone would be offering this for real estate marketing?
As mentioned by Will, this is simply marketing. There is noting "new" about any of this and calling it HD or Super Hi Res (SHR) is just fancy packaging.
Panoweaver is designed for Virtual Reality panorama tours shot with Fisheye or Super Wide Angle lenses with the added capability of being able to offer HDR images for rendering.
Ok the reference to HD in that Realtor.com side is Gigapan imaging.
Like Smooth said.. telephoto zoom lens, 100's of smaller single images. Microsoft is the developer of Gigapan type panorama image viewer (free). Which is something like zoomify.
