PW7 - Manual stiching vs automatic

Hardly testing PW7, results not being the expected one, I have to try all the possible workaround to get it ... stitching !

Last shot (in my bag, not possible to take it one more time), I took it with a -30 degrees ... this means my rotator is visible and used as stitching points by PW7.

I took about 20 minutes to manually delete and set correct points.

Started "simple stitching", result ... it found my rotator back and reject MY manually entered points[:x]

Questions :

  • How can I say : "I'm THE boss, and do what I ORDER you !" ??
  • What are the major differences between "simple" and "strong" stitching ?

Regards, Dominique

It must simply be a case of two different algorithms. But when to use what I have no idea? I guess you try one and if it fails try the other. If that fails - err....

Remember though, it is only a BETA

Hi Georges,

I had the same issue testing PW6. It was matching a lot of point on my tripod leg and rotator in the botom of the picture. I shoot only horizontal (4 shoots with my 8mm and EOS 50D).

It would be nice beeing able to set a zone wher we don't want to see PW try to find matching point.

[;)] BETA, I know ... just simply hoping not become myself ... beta [:D]

What about stitching not taking into account the manual point settings ?

This would simply require Panoweaver to respect and use Alpha Channels either placed in Photoshop or a masking system like Autodesk Stitcher or PTGui Beta 9.0

That is a request I have made many times. Being able to exclude areas because of overlapping moving items or as you request to prevent the placement of control points on the tripod or panohead.
