About a year ago, I asked the same question... Does iSeeMedia (xRoxio/xMGI/xLivePicture) plan to have a viewer for the PDA's. The general reply was most likely "No".
The main reason was that PDA's most likely will be replaced soon by the new "GSM" "Bluetooth""GPS"combination PDA/Cell internet accessable Phone. There are two (or more) flavors of the GSM type Cell phone - 1 flavor is the rage for over a year in Japan. 2 flavor is the biggest rage for about 8 months in Europe.
For some insight to the mobile internet:
Here in the US Sprint, ATT, and Verison have been extremely slow in getting their new GSM Cell Tower hardware in place. Last weekend I saw that ATT was starting to sell 1 true GSM internet acccessable color LCD cell phone.
Where does that put the Virtual panorama viewer software? My best guess is probably back on your website - but only in the form that can be best viewed from pda/cell web phone. The next small footprint websites are called WAP websites... maybe there is where we need to be gearing up to place our virtual tours.
If you are using a Treo, Handspring or T-Mobile Sidekick [x-Voicestream] with the larger 2" x 3" [50 x 70mm] screens a normal html 800 x 600 website appears abit chopped up even though somewhat chopped up. I was told that If you are using the new Nokia 9290 [about $600] an 800 x 600 website is displayed full width. The hassel I am hearing now is that these handheld cell/pda phone that surf the web now operate at around 56kb download speed AND the phone companies place a surcharge for "Transfer" volume. Meaning if you are downloading graphic intense Virtual Tours, your monthly costs might get expensive.
Which brings us full round back to 'PDA' viewer implementation. I would have to say "WHY NOT"
Just a thought
