Where are the IPIX rotators?

Hi all,

I am new to the panorama scene.  I have a nikon 4300 with a FC-E8 lens but no rotator.  I have been looking for an IPIX rotator but no one seems to sell them except for IPIX in their EXPENSIVE kits.  Where can I get a rotator for my camera or are they even available?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thx, Dan

I have exactly the same set up. Ipix do not sell their rotators without you buying the software as well. But. I got mine on Ebay at about half the price in the UK.

Hope this helps

That's what I found out too after checking with Ipix. What a rip.  I have seen Ipix rotators on ebay but nothing for the 4300.  Maybe I might be able to modify one of them to work. But I would really rather have the correct setup than have something that wouldn't work as well. I have also been wondering about whether I need a leveler or not. I already have a sony tripod with a built in level.  Would that be sufficient or do I need to invest in a leveler also?

Yes, www.agnos.com is the go for far superior and cheaper panoheads (rotators) do yourself a favour and email agnos@agnos.com and get the goods. Forget Ip*x we don't like them! Evil keys and we control the universe crap.

The only thing about the Ipix rotators is if you change your camera you need to replace the rotator and they arn't easy to modify. If you were going to use the Professional version of Panoweaver you could modify the rotator base but thats about it. As the other posts have said try other sources.

Thanks for all the feedback.  I checked out the agnos site (not an easy site to navigate by the way) and found the MRotatorA that is made specifically for the FC-E8 lens. I have emailed them for more info.
