How can such a quality be possible ?

Just click on the following link :

http://www.panoramas.dk/smart/apple-ipod-smart.html

I think this pano has benne made with a fiheye lens, because a smart is a very small car. But the quality is really impressive.

If anybody can explain me how to get such a quality...

I have a mate who made some of the Porsche images... there method is based on very good cam equipment, Everything is calibrated down to a T. They have all the lighting they need. They have a team of staff with them on shhots and a team of Post work people as well. Most of the shots are made up of 36 images... well more like a few 100 actually, layed, and blended. RAW image shooting and processing.... A good image will take at least a day to shoot and around 10 days of post work. All images will be done in Studio environment with additional imagery done of a location which will be blended into the car pano later. Thats why they get great images... so don't feel all to bad.
If I only had an hour to chop down a tree... I'd spend 45 mins sharpening the axe.

Here's a 2001 Mercedes C320 I recently did.
I used the Nikon Coolpix 8800 with FC-E9 Fisheye.
It's not the best but the client is happy.
I hand held the camera and guessed the nodal point as there was no room for a tripod.

the file is 1.1MEG in size.

I'm going to try it again using higher resolution as Panoweaver seems to degrade the quailty when saving the pano.

Hey PhotoBill ,

The Benz looks cool. Your hands did a good tripod replacement!

Anybody got a link to the porsche virtual tour mentioned above?

I visited their site but all there was are still pics.

Hey VT360

The URL is

After the intro, select experience at the bottom of the flash viewer, than 360degree panorama.

gidget, thanks for the link and instructions.

i saw the full screen pano and is very nice.

phoenix, do you know what affordable camera can produce this pixel quality? can a coolpix 5000 and 3 shots do it?

also, what do you approximate the file size of the fullscreen pano to be in MB?

I just tried doing incar panorama. For a first time test I think the result was great

http://www.3sixty.in/car.htm

It was too dark out side, so I had to over expose the pictures. And tried to edit the picture in photoshop.

Is there anyway to set the initial view for QTVR ? other than paying for panocube...

i like the height used to take the pics.

what tripod are u using?

try doing it when the lighting is all equal and the sun hasnt come up or has set down. if there are sunrays coming in the car is not going to look good.
