Has anyone some experience with VR Worx? (version 2.0)
I can not use mov files generated by PW3.01 - they are incompatible. The same files reexported in CubicConverter are right. But CubicConverter is MAC only.
There must be something wrong in structure of PW3.01 mov files – this was confirmed by a technician from VR Toolbox Company.

May I ask you for your sample mov file stitched in PW4.0 ?

Many thanks in advance

Not sure the VR Woks supports spherical images! I could be wrong but I have only ever seen cylindrical images displayed when built with this software.

I can send you a Panoweaver 4.0 .mov file if you email me direct.

My email address is available on the contact page of my website.

Regards, Smooth

Beside VR Worx you can try Panorama Factory 3.4 (don't know if it works with cubics) to link QTVR's or the program PanoLink from Andrew Jakowleff.

Yes, Panolink is what I have been using but it is not a nice Gui. I have VR Worx but have not had time to play enough.

I wrote to VR Toolbox support and as expected here is the questions and reply. (slightly edited)

Hi,

Just a question I can't seem to find an answer for.

Q) Can I import a spherical image 2.1 in .jpg 360x180 degree format?
Q) Can I import a spherical .mov 360x180 ?

The point for the question is I would like to make multi node scenes and link from one movie to the next via hotspots.

If possible could you explain the import process. Every time I try I get limited FOV 360x110? and my image is all distorted.

Thank you for your time.

Regards, Smooth

Hello Smooth,

It is not possible to import an equirectangular image because VR Worx does not support it. Sorry...

We are planning on add full cubic capabilities in our next version due early next year.

Perhaps everybody once in while could ask Michael Bradshaw at info@clickheredesign.com.au if the Cubic Connector can be ported to Windows. In February 2003 they planned to do so, but they had problems to find a good programmer for the Windows OS..... If there is enough interest maybe they can start this project for Windows another time.

Feb, 2003: "CubicConnector is not yet available for
Windows, although it is planned. We will release CubicConnector 2.0 and then the Windows version should follow within a few months."

Thanks you for your effort.

I have found nice panoramas with multinode function in full screen at www.virtual-surfers.com.
Their panoramas are brilliant.
The interesting is that they use special "camera" produced at http://www.spheron.com/spheron/public/en/home/home.php with Nikon lenses and panohead can not shot up.
Interesting....

The spheron camera also costs around 35.000 and even 45.ooo if you want the hi def scan version. I've also had mixed reports from some guys I know who're into high end pano work. They tried the cams and rejected them as the quality output was no improvement on there current workflow.

I don't want to be negative on the camera as I think the idea is great... just looks like the day to day use isn't quite as easy as it says on the box.

If I only had an hour to chop down a tree... I'd spend 45 mins sharpening the axe.
