Let me try to help you with your PhotoShop problem so you see how easy it is. (I will have to translete from my german menu and language to english, but you will manage)
Open your .jpg in PS
Duplicate the layer (pul layer over new layer symbol and let it drop)
Throw away the original background layer. (You can not do everything with the background layer. thats why I do this. Alternatively you could rename the background layer so it will be a normal layer.
Now choose the circle tool (sorry did not know how to translate) tools very top left (if its square hold click it to change to circle)
Now make the circle around your logo (holding down shift will make it really round)
Now invert what you have selected. Again I don't know whats it called in english. In the German Version it's the 5th Menu (File, Edit, Picture, Layer , and Selection maybe)
Then hit delete (you should have chess background now) This is how PS will display transparent parts of you image.
Now save as GIF (JPEG does not feature transparent areas).
Thats all folks.
This should take not longer then 3 Min max.
For all this time saved send a check to virtualsv :-)
Regards Markus
PS: If you are able to reproduce what I try to explain it would be nice if you state so. If not tell us also. Mayve virtualsv can explain it better since he has most probably an english version and the right wording.
