Hi,

does anyone know a way of getting tours (quicktime or java) in a powerpoint presentation (besides using a link to an external file)?

I can insert a qt-movie, but it just displays the 6 cube sides...

Hi Jack

According to Microsoft, PowerPoint can not accommodate QT at this stage.

However if you are doing a presentation you may want to look into Desk Top Author as an alternative. DTA produces a standalone executable file with auto page transitions and multimedia features. Look at this thread to view a sample created by Smooth

If you going to be building a presentation with animation and builds then this is not the product for you as it is layout package, although it could be achieved with a Flash file within DTA.

If you have access to a mac, you can insert QT panos (which work) in 'Keynote'. Otherwise consider converting your panos into a flash .swf movie set to autopan

Hi,

Try this.

Click INSERT, select OBJECT, Click on Create from File, click on the Browse button and find your video clip.

That's it. Hope that helps.

Thanks,
eagle

As a pure guess an active x panorama might work. I don't know if panoweaver outputs to an active x viewer but some software does. As its a microsoft plugin technology it would make sense to be supported.

I recently had success with inserting QT into PowerPoint using RAD Tools (Blink Video).

RAD Tools allows one to convert QT into AVI or any other format which then makes it possible to embed movies in PowerPoint.

RAD Tools is a free download  http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm
