What software, tools, adapters are there available to transfer pictures from the camera to the computer instantly?

As I take a  picture, i want it to show on a pc screen.

I've seen this on model photo shoots, etc.

Do only new cameras have this ability or will an old coolpix 990 do it?  What u think Daves?

The software that came bundled free with my canon 350d rebel xt called zoombrowser xt allows you to view images and control settings on the camera instantly. I use it quite alot for remote shooting on the laptop.

is it really instantly or it takes a few seconds?

can it be done wirelessly?

Within 1 second i would say. I never thought of the wireless idea - dont know if you can get a wireless adapter for the camera?
