Hi all

I want to be able to use the agnos MrotatorH to make elevated panos. I wrote Agnos to ask what extra exipment I need, and they told me this:

For use our MrotatorH series you need one camera that support a remote cord control. Your CP8700 don't support this and don't use with MrotatorH.

Is this really true?? I want to make elevated panos and have had a request for it, but I don't have the money for new equipment.

click and scroll down to 'Coolpix 8700 features', you will see the usb1.1 port supports remote control mc-eu1 Maybe the problem is that an USB cable cannot be 6 meters?

Vilmer

Check out http://harbortronics.com/

They offer what you need.

The mc-eu1 can be exteneded by using plain old cat 5 cable but you have to cut the wire and do it yourself.

Or you can buy and extended one from Harbortronics or get a remote activated setup from them.

Hi Gen lee.

Thanks. I could not imagine why it should not be possible to extend the cable. I have done this with my electrical cables at home so it should be the same with the mc-eu1 :o)

Now I just have to figure out what I need besides the pole to get it to work with my current set up .o)

Hi

I am sorry to come back to this thread, but the response I get from Agnos is absolutely no help. They answer quickly but not very precise and not all my questions are answered.

All I want to know is if I can use my coopix 8700 and fc-e9 fisheye lense to make a 3 hemi panorama with the MrotatorH

I know there is a problem with the cable. But that is solved (thank you Vilmer & Gen. Lee)

But apart from this should everything then work??

Agnos gave me a suggestion to these solutions:

1)

1 Kit MrotatorHDelta + Manfrotto 482

   (only photo)

     MrotatorHD....................................275

     482 ball head...................................25

                                                       ------------

                            total                          300

2)

1 Kit MrotatorHDelta + bracket landscape TAS

   (photo and pano landscape)

     MrotatorHD....................................275

     Three38............................................30

      bracket MrotatorTAS.....................50

                                                       ------------

                            total                          355

3)

1 Kit MrotatorHDelta + bracket portrait TBS

   (photo and pano portrait)

     MrotatorHD....................................275

     Three38............................................30

      bracket MrotatorTBS.....................80

                                                       ------------

                            total                          385

What should I choose?

I assume you already have MrotatorB and the CP8700 support bracket?

If so you need only the MrotatorHDelta as the MrotatorB will screw directly on top of this.

You should think of the "top" of the MrotatorHDelta as the top of a tripod with a 3/8" thread.

Simply as that!

Regards, Smooth

Hi Smooth

I have the MrotatorB, a coolpix 8700 and the fc-e9 lense. I don't have any support bracket. Why should I need that when doing "normal" panos with a normal tripod?? But I suppose that is why Agnos suggest that I buy the bracket MrotatorTBS??

What I will be buying is this set up:

1 Kit MrotatorHDelta + bracket portrait TBS

   (photo and pano portrait)

     MrotatorHD....................................275

     Three38............................................30

      bracket MrotatorTBS.....................80

                                                       ------------

                            total                          385

And of course a longer cable for the remote release :o)

If you are bodging up a solution for the cable release I'd get that working first before spending lots on a pole, but thats just cautious me.

Hi zxcvbnm

What should go wrong?? It should be simple enough to make the cable longer. And if that is true there should be no big problems with it. But you are right. I will give my local photo store a visit today and have a chat with the sales rep.
