Now outsourcing service has been more and more pupolar in IT industry. So I wonder if it is possible for panorama

Usually a panorama company has to employ workers to process images and virtual tours. If outsource to another country, such as India, China, then can save human cost.

Now it's very convenient to cooperate via internet. The advantage is that you can focus more attention on developing more customers. For processing, after setting a standard, you just send images to partner and then receive the final products.

Of course you have to compare the employee salary and outscourcing fee. For example, an employee in USA is $2000/m, then if you partner with some others, you just need $1000/m and save $1000. That's a big money I think.

Panorama processing is not complicated but a bit of time-consuming.This outsource service is suitable for company but not for individual.

I don't know the real condition in your country but am sure this will be new way to reduce human cost.

We may discuss the feasibility of this idea and if anyone can benefit from this, maybe I can be of help. www.best360.net

I have on occasion tried stitching images for others.  I will say that the quality of the finished panorama is directly dependent on how skilled the photographer is in taking the original image set.

You are asking the "Stitching company" to use all the badly taken, GREAT single images and produce a commercially marketable finished panorama.  That is a VERY RISKY business.

With this way of thinking, you have companies send IT stuff to be dismantleded to India, and workers there work in terrible conditions and can barely survive with a sh*t salary (when they don't die because of their working conditions)...

You can also take some slaves, that will cost you nothing... When making a lot of money with panos, can't we afford to spend 2000$ a month on a worker? When people get rich, they never have enough money and always want more

And I agree with Dave, if your worker makes bad work, you have no way of suing him/her...

I have "sub-contracted" for many people/companies in many different countries already doing panorama virtual tour work. Some are members of this forum, others not. I don't mention names as I like to keep it confidential so my customers keep faith in my business dealings.

I will say though, the jobs done for these customers mainly are fault fixing, one on one tutorials, specialised skin designs for Tourweaver and web pages.

Personally, I believe this to be a great way to do business worldwide and I can honestly say that those who have become business associates with me have found it to be beneficial to both parties.

There are those jobs I knock back because I don't feel it will be beneficial (more trouble than it's worth). Like everything in life you need to make judgment calls and go into things with your eyes wide open.

Outsourcing to other countries (both ways) can be a great experience.

Regards, Smooth

You guys may remember "Agency360".....well it still alive....kind of...LOL working on it.

This is one of the things being considered in the company. But only for skilled photographers shooting higher end work. There are many very good photographers who know how to shoot great images. Many have years and years of experience but they are old school guys who aren't into the "digital processing" like us newer "digital guys".

Our idea consists of developing a set of "protocols" that describe what equipment to use and method of shooting. If the work is done to these specification we can almost guarentee perfect results and deliver an outstanding pano to the customers specification...full screen, viewer format...hosted....a total end product ready for delivery to a client.

When you start dealing with novice setups like one shot lenses or other crazy hacked together rigs using all different rotators and non standard lenses then this would never work.

Most "proffessioanl" photographers use pretty much the same setups. And all the great panoramic photographer use either Sigma 8, Nikkor 10.5, or FC-E8 or 15mm on a full frame sensor. Keeping the protocols limited to quality equipment and proven methods a post processing company could survive.

This is already being doen by several one shot companies but they of course only process stuff shot with the equipment they sold the client and the results are pretty bad due to the photographers limited ability and of course the crappy optics.
