Hello all

I've pm'd this query to 2 friends on this board but as I'm in the UK I'm posting this here now.

I'm purchasing a Canon 5D and need to decide between getting either a:

- Canon 15mm fisheye

- Sigma 15mm fisheye

- Sigma 8mm 3.5 Fisheye

I use Panoweaver 4 so firstly I'd need to be sure it's capable of stiching images from these set ups.

Secondly - is the quality from the 15mm images worth the increased workflow (6 images) as compared to the 3 images required by an 8mm lens?

Thanks in advance

Anthony

I replied to your PM this morning.  Please check your PM mail.

My recommendation was go with the Sigma 8 f3.5.   On a 5d you can do either  3 at 120 or 4 at 90

This recent project was taken with a 5d and Sigma 8 f3.5  RAW , bracketed HDR.  Image #5 was with a Canon 350d and Sigma 8 f4.0

Client requested 640 x 480 QTVR displays.  Typically I would have gone full screen... but they said no they didn't want it that way.  Client is always correct.

Many thanks (for both) replies Dave - that's great.

I've gone for the Sigma but when I've the cash may also go for the Canon 15mm.

I'm planning to get a Agnos pano head but is there one that would suit both lenses?

The MrotatorTCPS will work with all the above mentioned lenses. Panoweaver 4.0 will work just fine. The Sigma 8mm will be full circular and the 15mm will be full frame.

The NPP (Entrance Pupil) or the incorrectly named Nodal point will be different settings. Though they are not miles apart.

Regards, Smooth

Thanks Smooth.  May be a silly question - but - both lenses take advantage/make good use out of the full frame sensor of the 5D correct?
