Hi all

Just got a response from EP saying that Nikon D300 NEF files don't work in PW5. Thought I'd pass that on. I raised this in a different thread but thought it would be best to make this a bit more obvious.

Thanks

F

So what format do you use from your D300 in PW5?

At the moment I was shooting in RAW and JPG (Fine) so that I had the RAW (NEF) files to tinker with if I needed but it seems like this might involve a huge work around which I don't have time for at the mo.

I do love the D300 though! I've got a Sigma 8mm and TCPs

I'm going on my first shoot with my D300 on the 17th. I think I'll just use fine JPG for now and bracket 5.
Here is a link to one of my first test shots with the D300. I think I have everything set correctly.  http://realty360tours.com/pw-5/hall/_flash/hall.html

Very nice! I haven't yet worked out the bracket 5 thing - I just shoot at one setting and if I think I will need to do any HDR work then I take the whole lot again at a diff exposure setting...

I'm no photographer but it seems to work ok.

Still got stitching errors though. Am I right in thinking that if I set up the agnos head perfectly, then pre-stitch and then stitch, with no manual faffing about, should create a perfectly stitched image?

Yes you will have to have everything set just right and then leave it that way. Don't know if you saw this link that Smooth sent me, It will help guide you.
Also here is a link to a DVD that will cover everything you will ever want to know about the D300.

Cross thread,  DNG's are good.  And this is a good introduction to a uniform file Adobe's .dng format.  As long as you are converting NEF's or CR2's to some  other file format,  that also could apply to no compression .tif's or bmp's
