Hi,

I wonder if anyone has created a virtual tour from CAD drawings. What I would like to produce is something like this which in the Easypano gallery. Is there a step-by-step somewhere? What other software do I need other than Panoweaver, Tourweaver, Photoshop etc? Can I get CAD generated images from the architect and stitch with Panoweaver? Sorry for so many questions, but this is a real job issue and I would rather have the job than the architect went to some one else!

Any help and advice appreciated

Thanks in advance,

Willie

Programs like Autocad and 3D Studio Max etc can output cubic tile faces and these can be imported into Panoweaver or Tourweaver for Flash VR panorama output.

Thanks for your response Smooth.

So if the architect is using Autocad, I would just need to ask him for or do what exactly? Does Autocad produce the tile faces in jpeg format? Are the Autocad exported tile faces really cubic faces like we use in Panoweaver? Apollogies for sounding clueless with so many dumb questions, but the architect has said he 'cant' do this to the property developer (I am assuming he means the actual VT though), so I really need to have my facts right in the first place before discussing this with the architect.

Cheers, Willie

Mate, I'm no architect but I have compiled panoramas from rendered graphics supplied to me in .jpg format. I do not own any 3D architect software personally.

Google is your friend if you have time to read through it all.
Autocad search
3D Studio Max search
Autocad jpg export search

Search easypano forums click here for results

Good luck!

Regards, Smooth

Hi Smooth,

Thanks for the links. I'm more informed now. Called the architect and have a meeting with him tomorrow. Here's hoping for a result!

Willie
