I have a licensed copy of PW6 Standard and thought it would be useful to try the PW7 beta, but it automatically deleted PW6 and now I cannot re-install PW6 because the installer says a newer version of the software exists even though I have completely deleted the PW7 beta.

How do I get back to my normal PW6 standard edition?

This is on an Intel Mac OSX system.

Hi MegaBit,

welcome on this forum.

How dod you install PW7 ?

For my part, I installed PW7 without deinstalling PW6, and both are running in parallel on the same system (but it is a W7/64b) !

This allows me to compare the two products.

I don't know Mac, but isn't there, at the OS configuration level, an option to force the delete of a previous version before installing a new one.
The goal being to let a clean system running.

Steve Jobs being upon God, I can believe he had such a taught.

If this exists, just de-install PW7, re-install PW6, disable that option, install PW7 and re-enable that option.

Best regards,
Dominique

Unfortunately, Easypano developers do not make an "uninstall" and even though deleting applications on a Mac is 1,000 times easier than on a PC, Easypano has some files hidden that are not tagged to them so I cannot find them to delete by searching for key words that should be in the file names.

When I installed PW7 beta I simply downloaded it and ran the install routine, which was automatic. However, I quickly discovered that it had automatically deleted the PW6 files without asking or telling me it would do that.

I have removed PW7 beta completely but because these hidden files are buried somewhere, it will not let me reinstall PW6

That is not possible because when trying to submit a help ticket the Easypano server returns an error saying that it unexpectedly dropped the connection over and over and over....

You can now download our new version of  pw7 and pw6 from our website

then you can  try to install it again.
