Can anyone suggest a "distibution company" that will allow me to upload my tours to the Realtor.com network? I'm basically looking for a company that will charge me a flat fee (ie. $25) to load my tours for a particular MLS. Most of the ones I've come accross either charge a big upfront fee of around $500, or a monthly fee (with a requirement of x number of tours posted per month).

Thanks in advance,

Sean

360-VRE.Com

Only Picturepath (Realtor.com/Homestore Provider) which uses a 180x180 full room picture view. (single fisheye) and charges $23.95 no upfront fee.

Come on VT360,

You are an old pro and should already know that the only way you will be able to post fisheyes (360x360 IPIX) is to use the IPIX/Homestore homebuilder wizard. Homestore own that portion of the IPIX program and they also own Realtor.com and PicturePath. Their network, their rules.

That is why we use the 180x180 Full Room Picture Format. Are pictures are taken from the corners, giving the viewer a full room picture view from floor to ceiling. For residential real estate, it just makes sense.

Hey Richard,

There are other companies posting 360x180 on Realtor withouth using Ipix to stitch. Well maybe is like 360 x 170...around there.

Take a look: http://media.homestore.com/HCFMYXBX.htm?_MLSNAME=ntreis&_MLSID=10145966&poe=realtor

My understanding is that as a PicturePath member, you pay $5k, choose a viewer of your choice (IseeMedia, PTviewer), and upload the jpg of your choice.

The jpg of your choice could be 360 x 180. Unless...Homestore restricts 360 x 180, then you can go for 360 x 170 which is so similiar that the homebuyer might not even noticed the difference.

Well that's my understanding. Perhaps I'm wrong and you guys are welcome to clarify with your inputs.

Thanks.

VT -

You've pretty much got it.  To join PicturePath you have to pay the upfront $5000, and then it's $19.95 for each tour uploaded (up to 6 scene).  The tours can be a full 360 x 180, or basically whatever you want as long as there's a viewer to accomodate the format.

The only place I've seen that will allow you to not use their hosting service as a pre-req for posting to the realtor.com network is vrguild (360 x 180).  For your single fisheyes you've got 360vre, of course.  Then, there are quite a few places out there that will allow you to post to their newtork, then to Realtor.com.  I think the cheapest I ever found was like $29 for 6 scenes, KND virtual tours sticks in my head, but I can't say for sure.

Hope that helps a little.

-Steve

Sure helps Richard and Steve. Thanks.

How's the one shot system coming along? What are you doing to improve the quality?

From my understanding the system from 0-360.com is superior to the remotereality.com system.

Anytime VT, glad I could help.

Heh...the One Shot is en route to Australia as we speak.  A little more room (financially and literally) had to be made for a new pano head I wanted to get for rectilinear panos (manfrotto 303sph).  The new head will shoot multi-row panos, so I'm pretty excited to start testing it out.  I found, with the help of 0-360 support, that there were a few other settings we could change on the cp5000 to increase quality.  They helped a little, but most of the help came from a couple Photoshop balancing and sharpening routines.  With enough sharpening and then resizing down for web, the images looked much better.  The One Shot's have their purpose, but I don't think I would've gotten much use out of it right now, I may buy one again down the road.  I have heard that the 0-360 is the best in its class, too.
