I am always looking at improving my equipment. I currently use the Nikon 4500 & FC E8 lens. I am thinking of upgrading to the Nikon D70 + FC 9. Has anyone out there have any comments on the differences between the two kits?

Hi Terry,

D70 and Sigma 8 might be a good idea.  I would also wait for PW4.

If Nikon doesn't come out with something bigger and better, we will probably move from our 990/fc-e8 to the D70/Sigma 8,  or the Canon 20D and Sigma 8.

See Sams specatular work done with the Canon 10D /Sigma 8.

Then be sure to see James Yang's Canon 10D and Sigma 8 image stitched with PW4.

Then click below each to see full screen version.

Each photographer has a small narrative about their camera and lens and stitching software.

I understand from others  the FC-E9 is a bit fuzzy and not as good as FC-E8.

Dave

Cheers Dave

Why would it be better to wait for PW4? Is it because of more hemi's being used?

Alos, the links you kindly provided are not working at the moment, I will try again later.

Hi Terry,  yes PW4 should be able to work with more than 3 images.  This should improve camera and lens selections.  Like the D70 and Nikkor 10.5 full frame fisheye lens or the Canon D20 and Canon 15mm fisheye lens.

At the time I wrote my comment the links were working.  I agree today they appear not to be working.  Sometimes the University Server goes offline for maintenance.  I did post a comment about 'Server appears down'  in the Yahoo WWP forum.
