Please help me for the best setup for this equipment:
Panohead manfrotto 302 plus,
Cp 8700
fc-e9 with ur-12 adapter

... well, hard to give you a straight advidse.

Iam using the coolpix 5400, fc-e9, with the manfrotto 303. (The 303 plus would be better)

I guess the 8700 is not too much diffrent from the 5400, so you could go along with the settings according the manual.

Just a little try an error and after some times, you have the proper adjustement to pan your x-mas tree :))
