Also have it set on area focus (my fuji s7000 let me choose a focus area - typically auto focus works on the centre of the image which in a 0-360 is the middle of the 'donut')

PS - One went for 100 dollars last week on ebay...I forgot to bid as it would have been good to have one back in my collection!
