As Smooth said it is 6 + TB although we are going to agree to disagree on the quality of the images produced by both lenses.

We did some side by side comparisons shooting with both lenses.  Same tripod location, lighting, shot settings, etc.  Just changed the lens and re-shot and the difference was noticeable. I will try to find the images and post the results.

I will say the Sigma 3.5 is a far improvement from the 4 but still see a noticeable difference between the Canon. Maybe I have just been a Canon man way too long.

Hi Matthew

Have you also tried a 3 shot pano with the nikkor 10.5mm / 5D setup??

Do you know how much experience it would require to operate the nikkor 10.5mm lense manually??

Best regards

Morten

Does Nikon's Nikkor 10.5 come with a Canon mount?  Not sure.  Or do you need to buy a nikkor/canon adapter ring ?  I think Lucas did that costs around $100.

Hi Dave

You will need an adater ring as far as I am informed. There have been a couple of threads about it in here. I will try to find them a little later to get the details from the thread.

Hi Smooth

Thank you.

Why do you not use this combo?? Is it not userfriendly enough or is it because the result is not reliable every time or??

I do use it! I use all my combinations. But the Sigma 8mm is the friendliness lens for ease and quality. I think I'm adding a Tokina 10mm-17mm Fisheye next. (Maybe)

Regards, Smooth

I think these were taken with a Canon 5d and a Nikkor 10.5.  He shows you what a 10.5 image looks like on a Canon 5d sensor AND "LOOK DOWN" to page bottom for the stitched image.

Looks like the 10.5 on a Canon 5D full frame sensor creates a drum image type.  4 images + 1 zenith up and 1 down shot.  Due to the different angles.. not sure how it would stitch in Panoweaver.

YOU MIGHT WRITE TO THE PHOTOGRAPHER AND ASK HIM WHERE HE SET UP HIS TRIPOD TO GET SUCH A GREAT PANORAMA !!!!
