Hello,

I am a little confused to choose the equipment to shoot my tours.

i was going for a fisheye lense with a coolpix 8400 but I saw few websites showing 360 lenses, which seems interresting to avoid the hard work of stichting images together...

On the other hand, it creats 230*360degres tours...

What's your opinions on this ?

Alexandre

The images produced by the one shot lenses does not even come close to shooting with a good lense and stitching.  You might be able to get by with it for some low end realtor tours but not if you are going to be producing any high quality panos.

My humble opinion of course.

I have a 360 lens, wide angle and pano mod on one of my cameras, and have found that you really need them all. Some shots are ok with a 360 lens and serve there need. But some time you only need a pano shot. But yes for high quality you will need to stitch. Or the far away 360, you should stitch so people can zoom in and still have quality.

My 2 cent's

Hi Alexandre.
I suppose it depends on what you want to shoot and what quality you want to achieve. 1 shot lenses are good for very cheap low quality 'Panoramic' images and catching a scene with '1 shot' thats about it. Fisheyes & multiple shot stitching generally produce far superior results & you can easy produce fully immersive images rather than basic panoramics.
If you bought a 1 shot very soon you will wish you had bought a fisheye etc. 1 shots miss out approx 50-60% of a possible scene. The choice is yours...

Regards.
