Some things I would like for PTScripter... others post your requests...

  • Ability to change pitch and starting point "live" without having to guess and then preview image to see how close I am.  Trial and error makes it slow process.
  • Ability to set hot spots across the seam of the panorama.
  • Ability to toggle the image view window between "flat" and "spherical" to see what it's looking like while working

These are some of my wish list.  Anyone else agree?

Yep, I agree with No. 1 above, would be a huge saving in time if the "Ability to change & view, initial pan angle field of view etc..... in "real time" or a set Initial view button would be a real dream !

Support for drop down menu's in the java file would be great as well.

Thnx

I strongly agree with every feature you've suggested. It would be nice when laying out the tour to quickly and intuitively set those views without having to leave the editing screen. Has anybody noticed that when you adjust your initial view for one pano it "globally" adjust all of the panos in your tour? When setting up a tour I like to set the  initial view to be looking back at the paono or the direction of the pano you were just viewing. I think it helps to orient the user as to their position in the tour a little more.

I do not like to use products from criminal companies so I do not use MS products. I have been creating panos since 1991 and use MacOS on my workstations. The PTScripter is only Windows compatable so I looked around for other solutions I found an excellent one for the Mac and Quicktime it is called Pageot it allows scene scripting and multi node Quicktime VR to be created. I think that replication or inclusion of this type of product would be greatly appriciated by the Mac community.

Another sugestion is to allow the mac versions access to the quicktime codec settings from within Panoweaver. It can be accomplished in the publish command by calling the saveas dialog of the quicktimeextension instead of the save with args method being used now. Should work cross platform on any machine with the pro version of quicktime.

I would like to see some funktions of ptzoom integrated in the scripter. For the navigation bar it would be great to get the function of automatic zoom to a given point.

Since you have the gui for dersch ptviewer it would be nice to see more of the scripting capabilities included.

PTV can do soo much and the scripter cant , just yet...

Thanks for all your ideas. Surely PTViewer Scripter is in his early stage. There is much to do to make it perfect. Continue to provide us more ideas and we will work hard to repay you a surprise.

To give you good ideas we need to know the limits of the gui.
Does the gui have potential to do all kinds of customisations of the PTV ?

...including the javascript options , mapfunction etc... ?

Better documentation , navbar templates ( psd , png ) should be easy to include...

Browserdetection scripts would be handy...especially a javadetect.

It would be easy for you as programmers to be on top of the browserdevelopment and include templates for browserdetect , helpfiles for javainstall etc...  These could be updated from your website regularly...

That would add some "value" to your product.
