The file takes a while to load any tricks on speeding it up or is it from having the splash page...

When I was using and testing TWViewer it loads quicker than PT

If you check out Smooth's site viewers samples/java sample it loads lightining fast. (Server?)(jar.file?)

Hard for me to give an answer if we don't have a link to your slow loading example.

The ptviewer.jar file should be sized between 20kb and 84kb depending. Image size is relevant and so is the applet viewer size. I would need this information to help you out.

I was just able to get back at it today...

Seems to be loading fine now! Must have been the server or possibly traffic...

My .jar file is 21.9kb. What's a typical size? How does the .jar (ptviewer.jar) file increase to 84kb. Do to adding more bells and whistles?

Yes, adding Bells and Whistles is exactly how it happens. A .jar file is a combination of .class files. Each .class file serves a different option or function. When you compile all the classes needed you end up with a larger .jar file.
