Ok here is a link to a file that I am trying to get worked out.

http://www.photospherix.com/qtvrl.asp?id=gl2_1

I need help from anyone with suggestions. This is a 5 - row rotation with an additional 5 steps in the animation. I am trying to see if there is a way to stop the animation from frame 1 - 5 unless you are clicking on the movie.

I have not cleaned the images and the animation is only on the top two rows.

Warning the file is up to 2.2 mb at this point.

Suggestions would be great.

I assume each one frame is a 5 image animated .gif?

This must add up to a huge amount of photos!

On mouse down are you saying it will only play the one frame of the animated .gif for each selected object frame?

I think I can see what you are trying to do but until I'm on the same page with you I don't want to offer a suggestion.

Regards, Smooth

Thanks for your help, I will try and explain.

Ok these two versions are only test. The final product has 8 or 9 objects that move on it. The client wants to be able to control the object, and control the movement.

I will use the concept of a tackle box to explain. They want to spin the tackle box closed, then open the lid of the tackle box, and just to make it hard now they want to spin it as well.

Here is a sample

now what they want to do is hav me stop the animation at any given point and then let them spin.

You are correct in the statement that this will be a few images. We are estimating over 9000 images total for the process. What I am trying to find out is if there is a way to change the "view state" of a qt mov file from a hotspot or something. That way when the user clicks on the lid of the tackle box, it plays a lid opening animation and then shows the rotation with the lid open.

Thanks again
