I dont know if this was discussed previously but since one of easypanos competitors is working on outputting tours ENTIRELY in flash, I was wondering if TW2 will output as flash. I think this would be VERY useful! Anyone agree? If so lets see if we can put some pressure on easypano to develop this if they arent already.

On this topic:

Cubic Projection A spherical panorama can be converted to 6 cubefaces which can be displayed as a Cubic QTVR or in other viewers which support cubic projection like Macromedia Shockwave. The cube faces are actually 90x90 degrees rectilinear images like the ones you get from a normal lens.

I got this from this website: http://www.panoramas.dk/quicktime

Does anyone have any idea if that is true, if you can have a cubic image display in flash?

yeh its quite possible to use shockwave, but this seems to be a dying format as flash increases in capability.

The problem with flash is that it won't how spheres... only cylindrical will do. This is a real pity as i#d deff be in favour of the flash version. also worth noteing is the fact that if u want to continue to use the fisheye lens that u'll only really have an equirec image being shown. this means that the image will have all the curviture known with equirec images and the feeling of being in the room, seen with spheres and cubics is lost. Therefore u#d need to take cylindricals... which in my opinion is a step backwards.

I know that there are people currently trying/developing cubic/spherical's in flash, thats why I was hoping easypano would be on the case! I think the 'flat' panos you mentioned in flash look awful.

does that support full spherical/cubic panos? cant seem to find out. If not then its just as bad as the rest currently out there.

Ajay, you are on the wrong way, this is only a "walk" through a 2D picture. The best working examples are from www.FlashVR.de - but also here only a warped cylinder, not spherical.

The SPi-V Shockwave Player from Aldo Hoeben is great for ADR and HDR panos. Running this panos from CD works very good, but for the web the user needs quite always to install the Shockwave plugin.

Bernhard Vogl has some nice demos:

This is really good compromise that supports 360 - ok its not QT, but so what. You can view it as a standard 360 cylindrical image, or use keypoints, or use a mouse controled view which gives a spherical feel; so it isn't perfect but it is flexible, best i've come across anyway. Download the demo and have a play.
