This may be a question with an obvious answer, but I am fairly new to the program.  I want to try and add floorplans within my virtual tour viewer so customers can click on a room and have the scene come up from there.  Is there a built in floorplan builder in Tourweaver, or do you have to use a third party program and then paste the finished floorplan in the template?  Thanks for the help.

Floor Plans have to be made with 3rd party software. The Floor Plan is inserted as an image so any image you can make can be entered. You can draw basic floor plans with Photoshop or you might like to use a program like SmartDraw etc.

With this idea in mind, does anyone know where I can purchase town / city maps that are royalty free.  A client wants me to build a map of the town with attractions and I am having a tough time finding one that I can legally use.

Kropke:

You can use the TIGER Map Server from the U.S. Census Bureau for you application:

http://tiger.census.gov/cgi-bin/mapbrowse-tbl

The Census TIGER data base is the source for maps generated by the TIGER Map Service. The data used to create the maps comes from the Census Bureau, an agency of the U.S. Government, and is in the public domain. Thus the maps you can download from this site are in the public domain and you are free to use them as you choose. They are created on the fly and displayed on the screen in a raster (or bit map) format. They aren't meant to be imported into other mapping or GIS packages. They can be imported into many graphics or paint packages where they can be further manipulated to a limited extent.

The image size is 422 x 359, but if you need larger you can always download several views and stitch together.

Hope this helps, good luck!

John

John:  Thank you so much.  It is exactly what I need.  The only thing that I can not figure out is how, if it's possible, do I get it to show the stree names?

You have to zoom in quite a bit for the street names to show (assuming that you checked the "Street Names" On box and clicked "redraw map").

US Hwy, St Hwy, and Interstate lables show up zoomed out.

Depending on the size of the map you are trying to make, you might be better off putting in a few names of major streets using photoshop.
