Hi

I just published a tour using the feature "create files for autorun". But when I burned the files to a cd, and gave it a try, the tour it self did not show up. I had to press a link, that then started the tour. Is it not possible to have the tour it self appearing as soon as you put the cd in the computer??

Hope someone can help me.

Yes you can.

But the tour must be the page that first opens from the autorun command.

What files do you have?

Sorry but I don't quite understand what you mean.

Do you mean the information in the autorun file??:

[autorun]

shellexecute=HotelBrondbyPark.html

To help you I need a list of all the files you are burning to the CD.

If you want the "tour" to start straight away then you should have the tour on the page you have listed HotelBrondbyPark.html

and just in case you failed to hear me say this a thousand times DON'T USE CAPS in your file naming.

Also what are you using to generate your autorun.inf files?

Regards, Smooth

You will need another piece of software to create autorun cd's. I use software from here called autorun enterprise pro $99 US. Very easy to use.

Hmmm....

I simply copy all the files that TW creates including the autorun to a CD. Works like a charm.

Am I missing something?

Eagle

I also thought that it would be enough just to check the bot "create files for autorun" but somehow it does not work. Perhaps I should contact easypano and ask them.

Hi Morten,

I just did a quick google search on autorun.

Check out this link:

http://www.auldfart.co.uk/howto/autorun.html

or here's a good one:

http://www.betweenthelakes.com/admin/support_autorun.htm

Go down near the bottom and look for "Some general information about turning the CD/DVD autoplay function on and off "

Morton,

Your original question was: Is it not possible to have the tour it self appearing as soon as you put the cd in the computer??

The answer is yes! But it is

  • Reliant on you having autorun turned on in your computer.
  • You burning the files to a decent quality blank CD (I.E: TDK - Verbatim)
  • The data being "easily" readable by the CR Rom (I.E: Recorded Slowly)
  • The html file being the page the actual java applet is running on.

Easypano outputs the files required to make the html file run direct from the CD. The main contributer is the shellexe.exe file you will see in the files to be burnt to the CD. Thus the Autorun.inf will/should read as such....

[autorun]
open=shellexe.exe yoururl.html

The files to be burnt to the CD are:

  • autorun.inf
  • shellexe.exe
  • yoururl.html (that contains your java applet on the page)
  • all the files and folders outputted by Tourweaver

You can, if required download a free autorun maker from http://autorun.moonvalley.com/

Regards, Smooth
