Can anyone point me to some good - EASY to use audio software?

Here is what I want to do: I have several good royalty-free background music mp3 files... When clients request, I would like to be able to mix a second mp3 or .wav file with one of the music tracks... I would like to have the music come in for a few seconds, the fade to a softer volume and the voice track comes in and (with music still playing in the background) then the music resumes full volume when the voice is finished.

Is there a good program that can do that quickly and easily?

Normally I would use Adobe Premiere to mix my sounds, if you dont have AP you should google Music Editing. I found this one, looks like it would fill your need - though I havent used this particular software it seems affordable and has lots of features

Audacity is product I like using.  It is open source and free.  You can also run it on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.

It supports exporting out to WAV, AIFF, AU, and Ogg Vorbis.  It will export to MP3 with the LAME encoder as well.

Go to http://audacity.sourceforge.net/about/features.

I prefer to do editing of music files with FlexiMusic Wave Editor. Hope this might be of use to get your work done.
