I am running into a problem I did not have a week ago (or at least I did not notice).

http://host.webvisiontours.com/winooskifalls/cascades/

My skin size is 800 by 675. However, IE 7 and FireFox 2.0.0.3 are cutting off the bottom of the skin in the pop up. THe Javascript is set to 800 x 675

Here is the direct link:

Thoughts? Usually the pop up with the same size dimensions works fine.

This is because of the newer browsers having that poxy (useless) address bar at the top of the pop-up window. This didn't happen with Firefox 1.5 or I.E 6.0. If this really concerns you, just add the difference of the address bar to the height of the code "manually" to compensate.

If is something that Easypano should adjust in their code as most people would now (or at least very soon) be using.

As it stands it doesn't really effect your tour because the bottom is plain white.

Kevin,

I'm using IE 7 with Vista Home Premium.  The tour looks fine on my machine.  I must have the settings so that the pop-up bar doesn't come up.  I do have to use the scroll bar on the right to see the last half inch at the bottom of the tour page.  Otherwise it looks great.

May I ask what image size and file size you are using for the 360 images?

Thanks,

Robert

Thanks Smooth,

I thought that was the case, I will add the extra height to compensate.  However, I do think this should be addressed in the future.  Maybe Ill put in a bug request.

Robert,

I am still experimenting with image sizes and file sizes for the one-size-fits-all panos that can be viewed full screen.  Most recently I have been processing them at 2500 px wide.

I start with a pano, usually greater then 2500 px wide.  I use photoshop and the WP Pro Web Presenter Plugin to resize to 2500 x 1250 with low sharpening.  You can get this plugin from Smooths software recommendation site (support his free advice!)  at http://www.smooth360.info/ just select FM Software under Digital Darkroom and look for WP Pro v1.1 - Web Presenter Plugin (PC) on the FM site.

After I use WP Pro I save for the web in photoshop at about 60% compression.  In this tour my files sizes ranged from 277 kb 392 kb.

Hope this helps.

I'm not sure, but it seems like I am not able to alter the skin size by changing the popup javascript.

For example: http://host.newspin360.net/lavilleinn/index_xl.html

The skin is 650 px high. I have the code set to pop up a window 700 px high - but it is still just cutting off the bottom in IE 7.0. Looks sort of ok in Firefox, at least the full bottom is visible.

No matter how much I change the number for height in this line:

<a title="#"

onClick=javascript:window.open("pop_lavilleinn.html",'_blank','status=yes,top=0,left=0,width=800,height=700');><im

g src="lavilleinn_thumb.gif"border=0></a>

It does not seems to change the popup window size What am I missing?

Kevin,

Mate, I think you need to clear your cache.

Here is how it displays with I.E 7.0

As you can see you have made the window too large.

Thanks Smooth,

I did clear the cache (I thought) but I must not have if you are seeing it too big.

Do you think it is better to do pop ups or just embed the whole tour? The more I fine conflicts with popup blockers and different acting browsers the more I think embedding gives me better control over the look and feel.

Just wondering what others think - embed or pop.

While here is my first test of embedding the tour and keeping the links out side:

I like this better - gives me a lot more control over a lot of things. Thanks for the tips.
