Where do you guys usually get the floor map of a place from? Do you design the map yourself in a Special Program? How can you get a nice colorful map of a place, like house, business, etc,?

Thanks

Just an idea.. but how about this for a business layout.

Here in the US a business is required by city fire codes to have a fire escape plan mounted here and there around the office showing employees how to get to the nearest fire exit.

So put your camera in Macro mode.. get real close to the fire exit diagram.. take the picture.. edit it to remove all the red excape arrows... now you have a building layout showing all the walls, doors etc.  Reuse this floor plan in your Tourweaver project.

Ok.. don't laugh to hard.. it was just an idea.

Wow, thanks, I didn't even think about that! Of course it's a good idea!

Thanks again!

Hi Dave,

That is a great idea.  I always ask for a floor plan but more often than not, the answer is they don't have it.  So, I end up having to pencil the layout and develop it from scratch.  Having a floor plan from a picture or scanned document that you can import and trace is much much easier.
