There seems to be a long delay when you select a thumb in tourweaver 3.0 published Flash.

You select a scene and nothing happens for a long while.

I noticed this in older version published in Java. This delay seems to only happen the first time the thumb is selected giving the illusion to the end user their selection failed. Isn't their some way of loading the tour's scenes in background of the viewer? At least their should be a loading bar when each scene is first selected. Their needs to be something to indicate that a scene has been selected.

Randall,

You can add a waiting image to indicate that something is happening. (I also think I read this is now default with the latest version) Also understand that the images in the Flash version are NOT compressed by Tourweaver you need to adjust (compress) to your liking in Photoshop or Kiss My Image etc. Simply compress and replace the images whilst keeping the exact file name in your Scene folder. Obviously optimising and compressing your images for faster download will improve the customers waiting time.

Regards, Smooth

Thanks smooth.

Not sure what the difference is in my version of TW. I have the latest version of Tour Weaver just downloaded it this week.

I import bmp files which are clear and large in size. When publishing a tour in flash the scenes folder contains jpg files that are sized down to about 1/2 a meg. It seems tour weaver is compressing and converting to jpg files as expected. The time lag may be the time it takes to recieve the image. I would not want it less then half a meg because you would start loosing quality after that.

I will look into the waiting image to see it that will work. Just to make the problem is understood, the time lag is when a thumb is selected  and not to be confused with the initial loading of the flash componant.
