hi all

some questions relating to stitched panos shot in raw and bracketed

1,do you shoot in raw or jpeg? and why

2,what software do you blend your bracketed exposures in

3, i would assume it best to convert to hdr before stitching?

4, when do you tweak your images?

5,batch processing, all this tour making can be time consuming, what do you have in place to cut down on time?

6, does adding a ceiling and floor shot complicate the stitching process?

lastly, this panohed http://www.360precision.com/360/index.cfm?precision=home.home&mainnavID=1 claims that you can run batch processing from a template, so once you have a template done for your camera/lens combo, you can apply it to all subsequent panos,  is this feasible? and would it also work for other heads?

That panohead and it's manufacturers do not support Panoweaver software, also customer support and service is reported to be very bad all over the Internet - not to mention the price. Batch stitching is possible once you have a very good understanding of the processes involved. You are best suited to a panohead that grips the lens rather than the camera body for this. Agnos RingT fitted to the Agnos MrotatorTCPs would be a good example. Typically batch processing will result in some errors (maybe very small but are still there and need attention if you take pride in your work).

1) Always RAW ( because you make corrected JPG or TIFF or whatever from RAW) It is a must you learn how to process RAW to get the most from your images so you can correct Vignetting, Chromatic Aberration and all image issues common to fisheye images etc.

2) There are many. The better ones are Enfuse and the front end GUI's for Enfuse such as EnfuseGui, Tufuse etc. Lots of people use Photomatix (although not very well in a lot of cases) Learn and test lots of these before parting with cash.

3) Yes

4) When making the images from your RAW files and then maybe a final tweak once stitched.

5) Experience and a well set up fast computer.

6) It shouldn't. But can for inexperienced users.

Regards, Smooth
