Hi there,

I'm close to have a client who will need about 100 virtual tours.

I was thinking to host them on a dedicated server but this is quiet expensive..

Does someone has experience with dedicated server ?
And is there a faster loading than on a shared server ?

What kind a hosting does easypano recommand ?

Thanks for a reaction!

Hey Servaas,
I have similar questions, did you find any good solutions?

Basicly you would need a dedicated server if the software you are using would require lots of computational resources (like websites, portals with large databases, etc.).
Tourweaver doesn't use any server side software therefore you are not dependent (that much) on other clients which use the same shared server.
So, if the bandwidth is enough for you and it is guaranteed then you don't need to go with dedicated server. On the other hand hosting providers offer unlimited bandwidth for dedicated server/vps owners which is not allways the case with shared servers.
That's said - if i have a choice, i go with dedicated or vps server. Because you have control of the environment and it is easier to defend against various things. But that's another story.
In short - the bandwidth is that matters most for you in TW case.

The most important thing is the upload speed of your server !

Having a "powerfull" server connected thru a 10Mb/sec line is worse than a small system connected to internet via a 100Mb/sec or 1Gb/sec !

I have a system hosted by OVH, which cost me about 60/month with fast connection to Inernet.

Regards,
Dominique
