I am trying to get my head around the benefits of an exe file export in TW5. Am I right in thinking that the main benefit is that it includes Adobe Flash so that when a user uses a CD it has it all covered?
Secondly & Forrest might have the answer on this one :) If I produced a CD with multiple tour on, I am guessing that it could quite easily be copied but my main concern is that someone could extract the actual panos - so does the encryption work perfectly well to stop this.
im playing with V5 at min before I upgrade and im disappointed with the security on the exe file. all you have to do is change the file extension to .zip and you can extract all of the tour components straight out!
Also would like to be able to change .exe icon and change viewer name.. anyone know how?
Hi RuddersUk, this is exactly what I feared surely this is something EP can look at possibly to encrypt the contents. Are you saying the images are not encrypted in the zip file? this is not good news.
I changed the .exe extension to .zip and sends me an error (corrupted file), but if change the extension to .rar I can access the images (they are not encrypted) and all the other files.
The winrar process ends with an error (unexpected end of file) but at the end you have all the virtual tour files and the images on the scene folder are not encrypted.
This happens if the virtual tour was created with 5.00.091127 or older versions. But with 5.00.091225, all the tour files are encrypted and can not be viewed if you change the .exe extention to .rar.
