Hi Joe,

happy to read you, seems festival was good but ... finished ;-)

Question : what about a version running on iPad/iPhone ?

iPhone (iPad) becomes more and more a standard by itself.
Even if Flash is/was a must.  Steeve Jobs's decision to not implement Flash on his platform seems to be the starting point of a new period !

More than this, these two systems are more and more used.
If not for their functionalities, at least for the "image", the "nice to show", ...

For a RealState company, such a "image of success" is really important, and therefor are more and more used.

What can we do to offer them a tour accessible from that non-Flash platform ?

Regards,
Dominique

Hi Dominique,

We are considering develop versions supporting Ipad/Iphone system and the tour will be created with HTML5, but you know we have no where to get Ipad till now. Apple hasn't release Ipad in Chinese mainland yet, so I'm afraid there is still some time to go, but I will do my best to have this available as soon as possible.

Regards,

Cool !

What about an iPhone beta version ?

HTML5 is supported by many NEW web browsers, and tend to become THE new standard !
FaceBook seems to be already HTML5 based !

I'm candidate for Beta testing your iPad/iPhone version.

Btw, any roadmap for the future versions of PW, TW, ... (date and specs) ?

Regards,
Dominique

Basically an Iphone version will work for an Ipad version but for the optimized size of the screen.

An Ipad app is just taking into consideration the bigger size of the screen and possibly the faster processor (compared to the 3G / 3Gs Iphone; the latest Iphone 4 is possibily faster than the Ipad since it's equipped with the same processor and get more memory (512 Mo)

A quote from Steve Jobs email I got regarding the Quicktime VR and the possibilities of viewing multinode tours VR on IPAD & Iphones : "HTML5 provides this functionality built in using new industry standards."

Yep !

I know, this is the reason why it is important to get an HTML5 compliant TW output !

Good news,

It seems that in order to export tours for i-whatever you don't have to rely on html5 anymore. Apple lifted a bit restrictions, so the flash applications can be exported into iOS native code by using Adobe packager:
http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/packagerforiphone/

Therefore, if the exporter would work good, it would:
1) remove tons of work from EP as TW software (making it ready for html5) should be totaly rewritten as javascript quite a different language in the terms of object programming;
2) it would/should run a lot faster as it would be run as native code and not in an interpreted environment (browser).

But keep in mind that tours would work as applications, using flash in websites is still impossible because of (Apple's) restrictions.

Best wishes,
Tomas
