Hello guys,

We all know that pain in ass when we have a large project with lots of popups which we do need to close upon every action before opening the specific popup window.
One recent thread gave me an idea to use a plugin and script in a combination in order to automate closing popup windows. It will save lots of time and frustration.
The demo is here:
http://www.virtualivizija.lt/demo/closeit/
Nothing spectacular to see, just the demo to show that closing popup windows with script actually works :)

There are two operation modes:
1) close a list of specific popup windows
2) close a range of popup windows

The example of the first mode will be execution of script command (Actions->Misc->Execute script):
document.getElementById('sotester').closePopups('pup1,pup2,pup3,pup4');

The example of the second mode will be execution of script command:
document.getElementById('sotester').closeRange('pup',1,4);
I guess the usage is quite intuitive.

The plugin is free to try and free to use for non-commercial purposes. And if you'll find it usefull to use in commercial products, you may want to buy a 7$ 30 days support (unlimited use) subscription :)

You may download plugin and instructions here:

Very nice feature I think I'll get it. Better to support those that help us than not have the support of your peers.

Great component!

One question though; how do I close window1-4 and then reopen window3 in one go?

I tried using

document.getElementById('sotester').closeRange('window',1,4);
document.getElementById('sotester').showPopups('window3');

but this gives an error. I am also unable to run the script for closing and then a TW action to open (the window I open disappears after a split second).

document.getElementById('sotester').closeRange('window',1,4);
TW Action: Open popup window (window3)

Maybe the script keeps on running and closes the window again?
