I'm building a virtual tour of our campus. This is an internal project thus no profit for me.

Part of reason we bought Tourweaver is for Ipad usage. Our project works with Ipad but a lot of things seems not working fine. Here's the list;

1. Hot spot url link is not working.

2. After initial loading, I need the scene to automatically rotate.

3. Commands are place in wrong directions.

4. Some commands are not working.

Here is the project; http://www.adwc.hct.ac.ae/vt

Aside from that, a couple of issues on another projects. This are the links;

http://www.adwc.hct.ac.ae/vt/adwk &

http://www.adwc.hct.ac.ae/vt/adwc .

Basically those project should link with each other.

All of those are 50% finish thats why a lot of things should be done.

Please help me guys.

Your server settings restrict looking at your directory and thus I can't see your individual files.

Your tours take a very, very long time to download. So your file sizes may be too large or your server very slow.

So here are some questions for you to answer.

  • What is the file size for each scene?
  • What is the size of the audio/music file?
  • What version of Tourweaver are you using?
  • What is the build number of the version of Tourweaver you are using?
  • Are you adding the scenes as cylindrical?
  • In the first link (scene 1) there are two hotspots what is meant to happen when clicked?
  • Why do I see controls for video near or over your hotspots?

Regards, Smooth [8D]

Thanks for your quick reply.

Here are the answers according to nos.

1. Scene files sizes is between 4 - 7 MB with resolution of 8000 x 1000.

2. The background music is 2.6 MB

3. I'm using TW 7.

4. version 7.00.120113

5. Yes, those are cylindrical scenes.

6. On the first tour those arrows are assigned to URL of the second and third projects.

7. What do you mean by video controls?

Thank you again.

By the way, have you check in Ipad as well?

Version 7 of Tourweaver is the first HTML5 release to support cylindrical panoramas and I doubt if all bugs have been eliminated.

The weight of the tour is far too heavy.

You should aim at well under 2mb per scene and to achieve this you will need to reduce the size in pixels of the scenes. I have noticed placement problems of hotspots, sun flare etc when adding to cylindrical scenes. As a work around you could place your cylindrical panoramas on a spherical 2:1 canvas and import as spherical and limit the tilt angles.

No I didn't try on an iPad and wouldn't based on the file size. I tested with Apple Safari for the HTML5 version which I had to dig to find because of your restricted directories. http://www.adwc.hct.ac.ae/vt/adwk/html5/adwk3.html

I suggest you build a "small" html5 tour and optimise for fast display. Test it, find out if things are going well "before" attempting something major hoping you are doing the right thing.

Hi Smooth,

I managed to figure out how to rotate scene automatically on html 5 by uploading "spherical" scenes. Thank you for your advise. I'll optimize all scene files later on.

Can you suggest a work around on how to activate a link from html tour?

Thanks again.

Link to URL (Hotspot Action) is currently not a supported option in the HTML5 version.
