Any suugestions out there for what people are using to optimize high res panos without sacrificing too much image quality? Are there any reccomended programs or compression algorithms?

I've found that I can compress pretty far in high res, unfortunately because of the nature of jpg, solid ares and slight gradients such as a blue sky end up looking terrible.

Just wondering what kinds of things other people are using.

Best,

David

Hi David

I Personally use Photoshop to compress my images.

Open your jpg in photoshop

 Hold .. CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+S

You can compress your image by more thatn 50% without losing any quality.

Recommended size pano is 5000 to 6000 pixels in length. My panos are generally 10 to 20k pixels before compression.

Hope that helps
