Use your bracket feature on your camera if you have one, I usually set my settings to 1.5 or 2.0 . 3 Exposures one at + & - and one at normal, then use  photomatix and use average of 3 images and usually get it to come out pretty good.  I'm not sure about crystal clear, I often get a slight haze.
