with regards to focal length, I do not mean aperture. I think the link you posted explains the aperture concept.

To be honest I do not quite grasp the horizontal alignment issue...
Your system as per pic looks to genial to me....how would you use it?
For instance see the following indoor pic:
I think the result is OK and I did not pay much attention to the alignment issue!
I gave just a rough glance... mmh OK it looks aligned.... let's take the pic!

Ok they do not always come out this way but usually, after having used the Rotator, it all looks like it is a quick manual stiching issue if the result is not that good....
