It would be really good to see support for html5 as mobile devices are becoming increasingly popular,

Is this on track for release in version 7.2?

As you can see there is significant demand for this feature and have wrote about the benefits of HTML5 in virtual tours for mobile devices
here

Starting to receive more and more enquiries from clients looking at using virtual tours for mobile devices and having the feature to publish tours and interactive panoramas in HTML5 as opposed to flash would be a great benefit.

Are there are any plans to develop Easypano with universal HTML 5 functionality that will work on all HTML 5 supported browsers (WIN and MAC) as well as Android tablet devices? We'd prefer to have a single tour for our website as opposed to a separate version for iOS and a Flash version.

Thanks!

To my knowledge the Android tablet/phone is Flash based and will not run the HTML 5. You will need to create two tours if not more. You will want a "low resolution" tour for the Android.

Android can play "compliant" HTML5 no problem. Only the Easypano HTML5 is non compliant at this stage.

What is compliant? Who knows, the goal posts get moved all the time. Really any browser that claims to be HTML5 supportive.

I can run "other brands" HTML5 tours via Firefox on Android.

But still, Flash is far, far superior and why anybody would want HTML5 over it is beyond me?

At this stage, Easypano's HTML5 is only for iDevices via Apple Safari browsers.

Regards, Smooth [8D]

Thanks for the detailed explanation Smooth.

I realize that EasyPano's HTML5 tours are only compatible on iOS devices. My question was are there any plans to develop it further so it's universally supported on all browsers/devices that support HTML5.

360panz, the newer generations Android devices support HTML5 as well as Flash. Adobe upgraded their Flash plug-ins to be more smart phone (Android) friendly in early 2010.

Hello cheer, thanks for the response. Do you guys have an estimated time-frame for the next step in HTML5 compatibility to be rolled out? Any detailed info would be much appreciated.

Thanks.
