Panoweaver Professional 8.20.120929 Crashes at 13% stitching

While stitching (sets of 3 jpegs, Circular Fisheye), PW8 Professional *sometimes* chrashes at 13% of the stitching process.

I've tested innumerable  times. Sometimes it crashes and sometimes not on the exact same set of images.

In the end I made a script to run PW to test for this error. Iin one instance it will successfully run 6 times in a row before PW crashes, and in the next instance it will run 3 times in a row before PW crashes - always at 13% of the stitching.

I have tried different sets of images also, the error still occurs at seemingly random intervals.

Nothing has changed in my environment that I am aware of expect time, running on Windows 7 Pro SP1.

Hi Jon Erik Schønheyder,

I noticed that you are using Panoweaver 8 Professional for Windows. I use the latest edition of Panoweaver 8 to stitch your images. You can view the published tour via www.easypano.com/twtest/jack/test/forum/pano2/_flash/pano2.html.

                                The above image is your "sample image 1". It is necessary to adjust the stitching area as soon as the image is imported into Panoweaver.

You must set the "crop circle" as Jack has mentioned.

I see you are using a Nikon D300 and Sunex 5.6 Circular Fisheye.

It would appear the white balance was out quite a way and that you have modified the photographs with some sort of HDR cartoon effect.

I stitched your images after correcting the white balance and making some noise/grain adjustments. I set the crop circle in Panoweaver and the software had no hestitation stitching your images.

- as described, it is only sometimes the stitch process causes a crash, so your stitch samples seem to miss the point. while proving it works one time, it does not address the issue of pw8 sometimes crashing. It does not happen on any given panorama, sometimes a set of images will stitch, the next time stitching the same images crashes with identical settings. I have no problem stitching in general except that it crashes fairly often (roughly 1 in 5 times).

- In addition to the error at hand, PW sometimes crashes when trying to close the program. That is however something I can troubleshoot later when we found the root of this problem.

- fyi the stitching area crop I use is always the same: X: 2145, Y: 1508, Radius 1340 and I use the "use last setting" parameter.

- The program logfiles: i looked at one during program crash during stitching and one during normal operation of a complete process including publishing. I saw no differences up to the point of stitching, but sent copies to easypano support anyway.

- To easypano support: the subject of the message was "Panoweaver Professional 8.20.120929 Crashes at 13% stitching" which shows that I am using the latest version already.
